Wait, wait, wait, wait just a minute. Wasn’t it just two weeks ago that Tony Romo was left for dead after leading an embarrassing Cowboys collapse in the season opener?
My, how quickly Romo’s sky has gone from gray to blue.
After playing through broken ribs and a punctured lung to lead Dallas to a comeback win against the 49ers, then enduring the lingering pain of those injuries to gut out a close win over the Redskins on Monday night, it seems Romo has gained some admirers — one especially in Heath Evans who claims he never questioned Romo’s leadership to begin with.
“This guy does it all,” Evans said Tuesday on “Around the League.” “The leadership questions, for me, have never been in question. Yes, we saw a vocal form of him (against the Redskins), but I think that’s always been there.”
Evans is definitely in the minority on that one.
We’re guessing Romo, while leading Dallas to two straight wins, has probably converted some other experts into believers — that is, until he comes up short in a big-time situation. Then all hell will break loose once again, so Romo should enjoy the limelight while he can.
Such is the life of starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.
