The Jets will have veteran tight end Brandon Manumaleuna in for a workout Tuesday, according to a person familiar with the interaction between the team and Manumaleuna.
Manumaleuna has played 10 seasons in the NFL, with stops with St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers and the Chicago Bears. He has 13 career touchdown catches but has often been used more as an H-back type of a player. After protection woes in Sunday’s 34-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Jets appear to be seeking a veteran blocking tight end to help protect quarterback Mark Sanchez.
