Eli, like brother, will have to go with no-name WRs

Giants QB Eli Manning has always lived in his brother’s shadow, but always seems to outperform Peyton.

Peyton is the No. 1 overall selection, but Eli tops that by not only being the No. 1 overall selection, he hard-balls a trade to the Giants.

Peyton wins the Super Bowl and is selected as the game’s most valuable player. Eli wins the next Super Bowl, is elected the game’s most valuable player and he knocks off the undefeated Patriots.

Peyton throws a game-crippling interception as the Colts lose to the Patriots on Sunday. Eli commits three turnovers in the final four minutes to end the Giants’ chances against the Eagles.

Now Eli has a chance to one-up his brother yet again. Peyton has put up monster numbers throwing to unheralded players such as undrafted rookie WR Blair White and TE Jacob Tamme. One year after making Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie household names on the way to the Super Bowl. Eli will certainly be given a chance to top that.

The Giants will be without WR Hakeem Nicks who will miss three weeks with compartment syndrome, or swelling in the lower leg that compresses nerves and blood vessels. The Giants are already without WR Steve Smith (chest) and Ramses Barden who was placed on injured reserve earlier this season.

The Giants are now going to be leaning on WRs Mario Manningham, Derek Hagan and Duke Calhoun (awesome name by the way). Manningham is going to be a fantastic play down the stretch, especially against the Jaguars in Week 12.

Smith is aiming to return for Week 14, and it is possible that Nicks could return for Week 15 — prime fantasy playoff time. Keep both players on your roster and hope for the best.

And players holding on to RBs Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs could see an increase in these players roles, too.
