Braylon Edwards: ‘Take that’

NFL.com StaffPublished: January 16th, 2011 | Tags: Braylon Edwards, AFC Divisional Playoffs, Albert Breer, New England Patriots, New York Jets

There was no shortage of talk between the Jets and Patriots leading up to Sunday’s divisional round playoff game, enough to get Wes Welker benched and for the NFL to issue a warning to teams.

So we weren’t surprised that when NFL Network’s Albert Breer caught up with a still very emotional Braylon Edwards immediately following the game, the Jets receiver had some choice words to offer up.

“A lot of emotions fly,” Edwards said about all the talking. “Two teams, two cities that don’t like each other for whatever reasons. We came out here to battle today. Nobody gave us a chance. So, for all the media and everybody else that was on the Patriots’ jock, take that.”

Although it’s disappointing to hear Edwards play the tired ”us against the world” card, because clearly the Jets are respected by many, he probably earned the last word because of the scoreboard.
