Jim Mora: Give Mike Martz credit

The Bears don’t always win with a lot of flash, but rely on doing what they do better than their opponent. Since their bye week, that has been running the ball.

The numbers bear it out: The Bears are now 10-0 this season when they have 21 or more rushing attempts. And, since their Week 8 bye, the Bears are averaging 30.3 attempts and 117.3 yards per game. They’ve gone 8-2 in those games.

Balanced Bears are better Bears.

“I’m very impressed with what they’ve done since the bye week offensively, they’ve become a very balanced team,” NFL Network’s Jim Mora said. “Give Mike Martz credit for recognizing the type of team he [is] coaching now. … He altered the way he calls games. It’s really payed off for them.”

Added Tom Waddle, “I think Matt Forte has been their best offensive player all year. When they give that running a game a chance to develop and stay committed to it, this team is undefeated this year.”
