Eisen: Tomlin shouldn’t have used challenge

Moments after Steelers coach Mike Tomlin challenged a call on the opening play, NFL Network’s Rich Eisen was pretty quick to challenge the coach, asking why one would burn a challenge over a mere 15 yards so quickly into the game (via his Twitter account).

“Even if he’s right, it’s a challenge used just for 15 yards 9 ticks into the game,” Eisen wrote.

Just another reason why Eisen is considered the best in the business.

His words proved to be prophetic as the Steelers just lost a second challenge on QB Ben Roethlisberger‘s fumble. Pittsburgh is now without a challenge for the rest of the game — and we are still in the first quarter.

Game management has been a hot-button issue for coaches this season. Does anybody think these early challenges willcome back to haunt the Steelers?
