NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reports that Benson will appeal the suspension, so it looks like he’ll be available to face the Niners in Week 3.
In the event that the appeal fails, however, Benson would then miss those three games (starting in Week 4) against the Bills, Jaguars, and Colts — all attractive matchups for backup Bernard Scott. The third-year veteran would be the new featured back, making him a must-add player. Scott is a free agent in over 99 percent of NFL.com leagues.
