Gradkowski replaces Dalton for Bengals

UDPATE: Per The Cincinnati Enquirer, Dalton appears to have avoided a more serious injury. “It’s fine,” Dalton said. “I couldn’t have gripped the ball like I wanted to. The plan is to play next week.” Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was hopeful that Dalton can return next week and said the initial scans were negative.

Bengals rookie QB Andy Dalton didn’t make it to the end of his first NFL start.

Dalton appeared to be injured on the Bengals’ final play of the first half Sunday against the Browns when he took a hard hit. He was replaced by veteran Bruce Gradkowski to start the second half. He’s officially questionable to return with a right wrist injury.

Dalton was back on the sideline with a baseball cap on and attempted to throw, but he appeared to be wincing. He was effective in the first half, going 10-of-15 passing for 81 yards and one touchdown.
