Throughout his career, Randy Moss has never been one to shy away from controversy, especially when his team is stuck in the middle of a losing season, and his comments after Minnesota's disappointing 28-18 loss earlier today will definitely stoke the fires of discussion in the Twin Cities this week.
Moss went out of his way to talk about his love for the Patriots organization and in doing so, took a shot at his current coaches for ignoring his suggestions on the tendencies of New England on both sides of the ball.
"The bad part about it," Moss said, "(is) you have six days to prepare for a team, and on the seventh day … they come over to me and say, 'Dang, Moss, you was right about a couple plays and a couple schemes they were going to run.'
"It hurts as a player that you put a lot of hard work in all week,

According to Jean Jacques Taylor of the Dallas Morning News, Jones is currently mulling over whether to remove Phillips from his position and seems to have resigned himself to making a move in spite of his noted reticence to fire his head coach in the middle of the year.
"I don't think there is anybody in the world who would doubt that I'm willing to do something hard," Jerry said. "I'm willing to do something that doesn't feel good to me." From www.dallasnews.com (share this quote)Phillips did li

So far this season, Williams has given up just one passing play over 20 yards and zero touchdowns to opposing wide receivers. Obviously, the year is far from complete, but if he holds true to form, Williams will finish the 2010 campaign as one of a handful of players around the league that can legitmately claim to be a shutdown corner.
With success comes a significant payday though, and Green Bay's front office is doing everything they can right now to keep Williams off the open market. According to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Packers have offered Williams a significant contract extension that would pay a highe

Citing a league source, Judd Zulgad and Chip Scoggins of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune are reporting that Vikings head coach Brad Childress is gravitating towards having Favre take a seat on the bench this Sunday against New England, in favor of backup quarterback Tavaris Jackson.
Jackson has taken all of the reps with the first team offense this week in Favre's absence, and given his previous stint as the starter prior to Favre's arrival last season, he should be comfortable in that role if Childress follows through with his current intuition. That said, Jackson hasn't been on the field for a signific

But injuries , off the field distractions, and a well documented rift with head coach Brad Childress have derailed Favre's season to the point that Minnesota almost has to consider removing him from the huddle for the time being, in an effort to kick start their season before it falls apart completely.
NFL Network's Rich Eisen recently posed a similar question to former NFL quarterbacks Trent Green and Kurt Warner, asking them if the Vikings could potentially keep Favre on the bench after he recovers from the ankle injury he suffered last Sunday night.
"In a normal situat

A detailed examination will almost certainly take place tomorrow morning, and depending on the results, Dallas could decide to end Romo's season prematurely and roll with Jon Kitna as the starter going forward.
The injury comes at a bad time for the Cowboys, as they'll have to find a workable option without resorting to a trade, as the deadline has come and gone for teams to send to players elsewhere.
Kitna started off extremely slow after replacing Romo in the first half last night, but finished strong, tossing two touchdowns that made the game much closer than anyone expected in the end.

Top of the Heap
1. New York Jets (5-1) - Nothing that happened this week was enough to push the Jets off the top spot, and with a home game against the Packers up next, a sixth straight win could be in the cards if they can keep Aaron Rodgers down.
2. Atlanta (5-2) - It took a monster game from Roddy White for the Falcons to pull out a win last Sunday against the Bengals, and while they're still the best team in the NFC, that's not saying much given how bad the rest of the conference is right now.
3. Baltimore (5-2) - Giving up 34 points to the Bills at home and going to overtime to get the win is inexcusable for a team of the Ravens ability. They'll have to be much, much better next w

But after Dallas was dominated by their hated rivals from New York in almost every facet of the game, and lost quarterback Tony Romo in the process, there's little doubt that Jones will began considering a change at the top of his coaching staff at the very least.
Romo is expected to miss four weeks at the very least, while he recovers from the broken clavicle he suffered to his non-throwing shoulder, and it's possible that he'll be off the field for much longer than that, depending on how severe the injury is. A more realistic prognosis would be six to eight weeks, making it likely that the Cowboys wil

His comments will almost certainly draw a significant fine from the league, as he called out multiple officials by name for their decisions on the field. Childress took specific umbrage with the reversal of tight end Visanthe Shiancoe's touchdown reception, saying it was clear that Shiancoe controlled the ball all the way through the catch.
"It's hard when they take touchdowns off the board. I must not understand a catch in the end zone for them to take Shiancoe's off the board," Childress said. "That's not the way it's taught, that's not the way we’

With the season getting close to the halfway point, I've decided to start breaking down each pick in our mock draft, starting with the first ten selections. In the next few updates, I'll be adding my thoughts on each pick, culminating with the playoff teams and Super Bowl representatives.
The draft order is based loosely off my week seven Power Rankings, with adjustments made for playoff teams and scenarios.

1. Buffalo Bills-Andrew Luck (QB - Stanford)
The 2010 Bills are quite possibly one of the worst teams in recent memory and big part of that has to do with the play they've had at quarterback this season. Releasing Trent Edwards was long overdue, but it only exacerbated the pro
