Marshall back to work, but can you trust him?

Mike Berardino of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel wrote on his Twitter page that Brandon Marshall was limited in Thursday’s practice. He missed last week’s win over the Raiders due to an injured hamstring.

In the event that he does return to action in Week 13, he should be active in fantasy leagues … or should he?

Despite his lofty draft status, Marshall hasn’t been a reliable option from a statistical perspective. Before hurting his hammy, the veteran wideout had scored double-digit fantasy points in just two of his first 10 games.

Marshall has also scored one lone touchdown — he had 10 in 15 games last season with the Broncos.

If he is active against the Browns on Sunday afternoon, I wouldn’t use him as much more than a No. 3 fantasy wideout or flex starter in standard formats. He does have added value in PPR leagues, but Marshall is still a risk due to his lagging production and the nature of his ailment.

His return would also spell doom for the fantasy appeal of teammates Davone Bess and Brian Hartline, who would both be limited to deeper leagues.
