Oregon lands touted athlete

Oregon not only is playing for the national title, it appears poised to land its best recruiting class in years.

The Ducks received a commitment Wednesday from Christian French of Kennedy High School (Cedar Rapids, Iowa), a four-star athlete who could play tight end, receiver or outside linebacker.

French, 6-foot-5, 215-pounds, picked the Ducks over Iowa and Notre Dame. He'd also been offered by Missouri, Nebraska, South Florida, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Wisconsin, among others.

Some more information here.

The Ducks presently have 16 commitments, including four from the ESPNU 150.
