Harbaugh: Unhappy fans? Cheer for someone else

Like many other NFL head coaches past and present, John Harbaugh hosts his own radio show on Tuesday’s during the season. Win or lose, Harbaugh takes calls from fans on the Coach Harbaugh Show on WBAL in Baltimore.

So one can imagine Harbaugh maybe wasn’t in the best mood after a tough loss to the Steelers. Judging by this report from WBAL.com, Ravens fans weren’t either. At one point, though, as a number of unhappy callers took shots at the Ravens’ offense, Harbaugh reached his limit.

“I’m proud of this football team,” Harbaugh shot back in response to one call.  “I’m proud of our defense.  I’m proud of our offense.  We will fight our tails off to be the best team we can every single week.

“If that’s not enough for you then go find another team to cheer for.  If you’re not proud of this team then you don’t know football.”

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I think moments of truth like this are just awesome. Plus, not only was Harbaugh entertaining, but he’s right … aren’t the Redskins right down the road?

Considering the Ravens nearly beat the rival Steelers, and the team is almost assured of reaching the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons, is being a fan of the 8-4 Ravens really that bad?
